School Counselor as Leaders and Advocates: Equity and High Academic Achievement for All Students

To date educational reform has focused primarily on teachers and administrators. High academic standards require all school personnel to be linked to the mission of educational equity. This workshop will focus on specific leadership, advocacy, teaming and collaboration skills and knowledge necessary for the school counselor to effect systemic change in creating and supporting high achieving schools. Participants will be provided with an established advocacy model as well as effective strategies for systemic change. Handouts will be provided.
