Mimesis and Comparative Literary Hermeneutics

The paper contrasts classical Greek formulations of the concept of mimesis with traditional Chinese literary theory and practice. These traditions are then re-examined within the context of the philosopher Hans-Georg Gadamer's work in literary hermeneutics and poetics.
